Family Health:

All of us who have children want our children to be well and do well. Good health practices are best promoted through the family - by example. Our goal is to allow accessibility to the entire family. Chiropractic adjustments are modified from person to person depending on their age, size, and unique situation.

Chiropractic is necessary for all members of the family - newborns, children, pregnant mums to be, dads, grannies and granddads and all ages, sizes, mental and physical condition.

Women's Health Care:

Chiropractic offers a viable alternative for women suffering from menstrual and pelvic pain and dysfunction. This would be especially true for women who cannot or do not wish to take anti inflammatory drugs or oral contraceptives.

Pregnancy:

In pregnancy, the changes that occur, both hormonally and postural, alter the biomechanical forces exerted upon the spine and its associated joints. These changes can create new spinal problems but more often what they will do is exacerbate already existing asymptomatic spinal dysfunction.

Spinal problems are common during pregnancy and the chiropractic drugless approach is ideally suited. During this time, it is also a common observation that birthing seems to be more comfortable for those women under chiropractic care during pregnancy. American Medical Association research revealed that pregnant women who received chiropractic care were able to carry to term and deliver children with more comfort, with the need for painkillers during delivery reduced by half. A worthwhile goal for all concerned.

Men's Health Care:

Repeated studies have connected low back pain with sexual impotence, urinary frequency and incontinence. Testalgia (pain in the scrotum or testicle) has been linked to low back and mid back problems.

Headaches:

Researchers have often noted the relationship between the spine and many types of headaches. For example, one study of 6,000 long-term (two to 25 years) headache sufferers revealed that neck injury (whiplash, falls and subsequent malfunction) was the most important factor in the cause of the headache and should be suspected in every non-specific case of headache. Neck Problems Damaged or irritated neck nerves can cause more than neck pain. Pain in the face, shoulder, arm, wrist, hand and fingers as well as reduced neck motion may also occur. Other neck problems include headaches, visual difficulties, vertigo (dizziness), tinnitus (ringing in the ears), decreased attention span, learning and memory impairments, nasal problems, tongue and throat problems.

Immune System:

One of the most exciting areas of Chiropractic today!
As scientists have delved deeper into the nervous, immune and endocrine systems - the body's three great integrating networks, they have encountered profound interconnections.

Nerve fibres go into virtually every organ of the immune system cells. If you took away the nervous supply from the spleen, tonsils or appendix (the organs of the immune system), you would virtually stop their immune responses in their tracks.

The Immune System is important in a lot of areas, from fighting the flu to cancer prevention. Chiropractic removes interference to this natural inbuilt health care.

Sports:

The winning edge! Chiropractic has established a firm space for itself in the world of sport. Chiropractic can give your athletic endeavours an edge, improving your athletic ability by helping to keep you healthy and in top form and by keeping minor injuries from progressing to major ones. As well as speeding recovery, chiropractic can improve performance and prevent injuries through regular adjustments and by keeping an athlete's muscles in balance. Chiropractic has been shown to improve reaction, co-ordination and accuracy and precision of fine movements. Many professional athletes wouldn't dream of entering competition without a chiropractic spinal neural check-up and fine-tuning.

Whiplash:

A Whiplash is a dramatic example of vertebral subluxation produced by sudden accident or trauma. Anyone who has ever had a whiplash injury, no matter how long ago, should see a Chiropractor. It is important to evaluate each person individually, the same collision may cause injuries to some individuals and leave others unaffected. With the variability of human postures, strength of the ligaments, body positions in the vehicle, the amount of muscle activation, the quality of the spine and the excitability of the nervous system, -how an individual reacts to any stimulus varies widely. Whiplash has been found to affect the spine, neck, nervous system control of eyes, respiration and digestion and that persons overall state of well being.

Pain:

Pain is the body's way of signalling final stage dysfunction where it has reached a point of progression where it is now causing injury Symptomatic results simply do not remove this dysfunction in it's entirety and short term temporary relief from pain only serves to delay its lower level effects. Making an individuals deterioration more comfortable is not our objective. To merely delay these harmful lower level effects serves no purpose other than prolong ill health.

Children need Chiropractic too!:

Many researchers have documented and reported on the intimate relationship between spinal health and overall health in children. This applies from infancy and extends far beyond back pain to wellness and general health. This is especially true for children diagnosed with 'scoliosis'. The fact that chiropractic management is conservative and safe, making no use of drug therapy or surgery, is attractive to many parents.

ChiroKids:

So what is a ChiroKid? A ChiroKid is a child that receives a chiropractic adjustment to allow his or her body to be as healthy as it can be. Current research shows that 80% of all children are subluxated at birth. Studies also report before the age of six years of your child will fall 2,500 times.

Within a two-week time period, permanent injury occurs due to the poor healing, decreased blood flow and misaligned bone. An adjustment corrects the subluxation allowing your child's nervous system to function at 100%, at every waking and sleeping moment. ChiroKids that get adjustments are sick less often and less severely. These ChiroKids also miss less days of school. These kids also have fewer emotional and learning, neurological difficulties associated with childhood. ChiroKids receive better grades in school; they can jump higher, run faster, and throw a ball farther than regular kids.

It is easy to be a ChiroKid. Just make an appointment to get your child checked out by a Chiropractic. Once the Doctor checks and adjusts your son or daughter, they are on their way to expressing their full ability in school, at home and during play.

Infants, Newborns and Babies:

More studies are revealing the need for spinal neural care in infancy. Medical research from Germany documented that of over 1000 infants examined shortly after birth, 80%were suffering from injuries to the neck, which caused many clinical problems from colic, sleeping problems and lowered resistance to infections (especially ear, nose and throat), developmental delay and central motor impairment (infantile scoliosis, facial and skull aymmetry and hip dysfunction).

In that research authors opinion, examination of the infant neck should be obligatory after every difficult birth, especially in cases of congenital torticollis. He recommends that with developmental impairment of any kind, the upper neck should be examined and if required, specifically manipulated.

The main area of cause concerns the neurological relation between the upper neck and areas in the brain stem. Chiropractic can very often bring about amazingly successful results (according to the research almost without exception ) because chiropractic is aimed at removing the cause - vertebral subluxations of the upper neck.

If chiropractic care is necessary to your long term health then it logically follows that it is even more necessary for a child. Chiropractic care is for the entire family.

Elderly Health Care:

Studies in America of people 75 years of age and over, revealed better overall health and a higher quality of life amongst those who use chiropractic care. Elderly chiropractic patients report better overall health, have fewer chronic conditions, spend less days in nursing homes and hospitals, are more mobile in their communities and are less likely to use prescription drugs than non-chiropractic patients.

Addiction/Compulsive Disorders (Reward Deficiency Syndrome R.D.S.):

RDS can be manifested in mild forms (such as the chain smoker) or more severe forms as in the chemical addict. A genetic based biochemical inability to derive reward from everyday activity links these extremes in behaviours.

Alcohol addiction, obesity (as a result of carbohydrate bingeing) bulimia, anorexia nervosa, nicotine addiction, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and post traumatic stress disorder are centrally medicated "RDS" behaviours. Only vertebrates (ie those animals having a spine) have an opiate receptor site brain reward mechanism, placing the spine in an intimate relationship with our "state of well being" i.e. "how someone experiences emotions or feels about themselves".

Consequently, the ability of the limbic system (the seat of emotion) to function and express itself without interference, requires a subluxation-free spine. RDS individuals because of their genetic predisposition to a lowered ability to maintain a state of well being, are at the highest risk of a lack of state of well being.

Staggering results are being achieved in those receiving subluxation correction, not because chiropractic was treating their addictions but because subluxation correction improves their state of well being so that they feel better and embrace treatment of addiction.
